Q. Does KeywordCruncher work with Windows Vista?
A. We haven't gotten a copy of Windows Vista yet (I normally like to wait a bit with any major software upgrade, until it's been established that it's pretty stable). We'll let you know what we learn! We would also appreciate hearing about your experiences with our program and Windows Vista.
Q. Does KeywordCruncher work with Mac OSX "Leopard" version 10.5?
A. Our tests so far, seem to indicate that there are no problems.
Q. Will the Windows version work on anything earlier than 2000?
A. With brief testing, it seems to work fine with Windows 98, but is a bit slow (mostly due to the older, slower machines these operating systems would be installed on).
Q. Does KeywordCruncher come with any keyword data?
A. No. Keyword data must be purchased directly from Wordtracker. We do provide a "Fake Data" file for you to practice with, if you wish, but it is bogus data! Without Wordtracker data, our software would have no use that we can think of!
Q. Can I use my own keyword list with KeywordCruncher?
A. Just a list of keywords in our program would have little use since it's geared toward analysing only the data that Wordtracker provides. You can import a keyword list into Wordtracker, where you can do a competition search, then export that to work in KeywordCruncher.
Q. How much memory do I need?
A. The more the better. KeywordCruncher is a RAM-based program - it loads as much as it can into memory, then spools the rest to disk. The more data you load, the more memory it will take to keep it running quickly. If you're limited on RAM, quit as many other applications as you can while using KeywordCruncher.
Q. Can I turn off the sound effects?
A. Yes. Inside the program folder, inside the Resources folder, you'll see a file named "kcmove.aiff." Just move it out of that folder - no more sound effect.
